MATERIALS

PRINTS ON METAL & CANVAS

Below is one of the newer pieces in my series of dye-sublimated prints on aluminum. You can order these in several sizes directly from me now. Interested in the background on how these developed? Read my blog post on the series

This metal print was juried (by DeWitt Cheng) into the exhibition “Memories” at SFWA in August 2019.

My first foray into printing on canvas, this large piece originated from a digital collage created on my iPad Pro and it’s an edition 1/1, produced by fine art printers, ScaleUp, in SF.

“Deep Green Sleep” was shown at the Spark Arts October 2018 exhibition.

FACE-MOUNTED ACRYLIC PRINTS

An acrylic face mounted print is a beautiful way to show a piece of art and it is extremely durable and protective of the work. A fine art print is made (mine are all limited editions) and fronted with non-glare matt acrylic. It is backed with 1/8-1/4 inch material which has hanging hardware attached to it. It is a very clean, contemporary way to present the art without framing.

This piece was shown for the first time in the Artspan Open Studios show in 2018. It will be show again in October at “Favorites” a juried (by Ray Beldner) at SFWA in October 2019.

ART & ACTIVISM

Titled “Llibertat” this collage combines a figure drawing with photos of walls near Girona, Catalonia, Spain. The walls (there are several) reference the on-going struggles for independence and gender equity.

Breaking Walls, Breaking Patterns was selected for exhibition in the 2018 “Patterns” themed show at SFWA. Produced by Scaleupart.com . Ed 1/1.

“The Burma Series: Breaking Walls/Breaking Patterns shines a light on the plight of the Rohingya women of Burma, bringing attention to a group of people who are being systematically persecuted. People, perceptions, and this pattern of female persecution and punishment must change. How can each of us ensure women’s safety and freedom of speech and religion?” (Background photo: Bagan, Burma)
